Our preschool classes have a 9-1 teacher student ratio at maximum. Grades K-12 enjoy a 12-1 teacher student ratio, on average (teacher's aides not included).
We are currently operating two 15-passenger vans as part of a "bus route." These pick up/drop off students in Kapaa. The cost is $2 per student per way. Some of the older students also travel to and from school on the county bus which has a bus stop a short walk from the school.
4000 Kilauea Rd in Kilauea on the north shore of Kauai. That is 7 miles south of Princeville, 17 miles north of Kapaa, and 25 miles north of Lihue. We are situated on a beautiful 10-acre campus on your way to the Kilauea Lighthouse. We have families that attend our school from as far south as Puhi and all along the east side/north shore of the island.
We live outside Kilauea. Is there transportation available to and from school?
Yes. Both our preschool and our K-12 program are accredited through the American Association of Christian Schools (AACS). Accreditation is valuable because it promotes a continuous process of self-evaluation and self-improvement.
Is your school accredited?
Kauai Interscholastic Federation sports are available for high school students (Track and Field, Bowling, Girls Volleyball, Girls Tennis, Track and Field), spring musical, elementary coding club, robotics club, dance club, academic support lab, and after school care.
Where is your campus located?
Students must bring snack/lunch to school. We have microwaves available for students to warm up food. Fridays are "Pizza Friday." All students eat lunch together and Dominos pizza is available for purchase with the funds raised helping high school students with off-island trips.
Is there financial aid available?
No. We are an independent Christian school. Our faculty and board attend many different churches on island including Calvary Chapel (both North Shore and Lihue), Kauai Christian Fellowship, Anahola Baptist Church, Amazing Grace Baptist Church, Kapaa Missionary, Kauai Baptist Church, and more.
What is your average class size?
What extra-curriculars are available?
Frequently Asked Questions
Absolutely. We use a service called FACTS Management which helps us to assess financial aid on a need basis. When you meet with the administrator, he can help you to get that process started.
Do you offer a hot lunch program?
Is your school connected to a specific church?
No; we are an "open enrollment" school and your family does not need to identify as Christian to attend. If your family are Christians, this is the best place for you to place your child so they can learn and grow in the "wisdom and admonition of the Lord". However, if you are NOT Christians, but you value academic excellence, safety and security, a spirit of kindness, and an atmosphere of love, this is still the place for your child. Please be aware that we do teach the Bible daily and weave it into everything we do, but it is not a requirement of children to believe nor is it forced upon them. We believe the Bible and we teach it, but we realize that every individual has to come to a knowledge of Jesus as Savior for himself.
Do we have to be Christians for our child to attend school at KCA?
